Get Excited! Coding is in the House and our Students Love it!

As computer literacy requirements continue to increase, Coding has now become one of the most important skills to learn. And, since Coding is now a core part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) initiative, there’s never been a more important time to become literate.

That’s why Extra Ed is here! We want students to be fully prepared for the future, become coding literate, and have fun learning!

Extra Ed runs Level 1-Level 5 Coding Programs for Junior Students (ages 6-10) and Senior Students (ages 11 and up).

  • Ages 6-10 – The coding platform used is Scratch. Students learn the logic of programming while building games and animations. This platform is intuitive, fun and colourful, allowing students to create and fully engage their imaginations by bringing their ideas to life. Students advance to the next Level when they complete the previous Coding Level.
  • Ages 11 and up – Senior students use Python, a programming language and technology used by major companies such as Google. Python has many functionalities, is highly intuitive, and easy to learn. Students advance to the next Level when they complete the previous Coding Level.
