Kindergarten Arts & Crafts
Time to roll up your sleeves and don your smock!
Hands-on art. Our program focuses on projects that engage the playful and tactile aspects of creativity. Students hone their fine motor skills as they mix colours, glue materials and build with their hands.
Materials at play. Markers, paints, glues, cardboard, paper, pipe cleaners, yarn, recycled objects: they all find their way into our projects as we explore a variety of materials in novel and inventive ways.
Create together. Our instructors foster an environment for positive social interactions. Students have fun as they interact with their peers, share their work with the group, or work together on collaborative projects.
Kindergarten focus.
All our kindergarten programs are designed with age-appropriate curriculum that focuses on activity, play and exploration. Our kindergarten instructors in this program are experienced, patient and engaging for younger groups.
Curriculum notes
Each week students create a new piece based on an in-class demonstration. Lessons may include:
- • Marker blending techniques using water and brushes
- • Creating dream homes with cut foam shapes
- • Composing construction paper mosaics.
- • Exploring the potential of negative space with "tape art"
- • Collaborative projects, such as the exquisite corpse
- • Finding spontaneity through rock-guided line drawings
