Drama

Step into the spotlight.

Listen closely. Whether developing a character, acting out a scene, or just observing the world at large, listening is a vital dramatic skill. We actively develop this skill through specific exercises and ensemble work.

Step out of your comfort zone. With supportive guidance, our students work together to get comfortable in front of the group, build trust in fellow performers, and develop a self-confidence that carries beyond the stage.

Express yourself. Through a variety of exercises in voice, movement, and expression, our students develop the tools to express their unique performance abilities—often unlocking skills they didn’t even know they had.

Final showcase video.

Our program culminates in a final showcase from our student ensemble. Recorded for posterity, a video of the performance will be shared with participating families so they can partake in the fun.

Each week we create pieces based on in-class demonstrations. Lessons may include:

  • Introductory exercises to get comfortable in front of the group
  • Movement, body language, and stage presence
  • Using voice and sound within a performance
  • Character development
  • Improvisation and creativity
  • Rehearsal and ensemble blocking
