Hip-Hop Dance | ExtraEd - Groove to the Beat

Hip Hop Dance

Hip hop and you don’t stop.

Find the tempo. Students start by connecting with music. Using games and play to foster a relaxed social environment, students get comfortable moving in sync with the rhythm and employing basic footwork.

Rock your body. Once they learn foundational moves like two-steps and grooves, students next practice isolations—head, chest, hips—to improve body control and build towards complex moves such as popping and locking.

Dance the story. Hip hop dance is a storytelling medium. As we develop choreography and sequences the group learns to tell a story through movement. They even add a personal spin, as they creating their own routines.
