COURSE OVERVIEW

Coding has become an increasingly sought-after skill in the job world today, and an indispensable part of basic digital literacy. For this reason, all of our programs focus on real world applications of both coding techniques and coding languages. Our juniors work with
MIT’s Scratch platform, while our seniors work with Python. Both junior and senior programs see students divided into groups based on level, with each progressive level delving deeper and deeper into each platform.

Our coding programs put a particular emphasis on problem solving. Finding errors, making adjustments - often with much creativity and critical thinking - are central to how we teach the materials. Participants work both individually and with others as they navigate new languages and ways of thinking, all the while building confidence with digital literacy and STEM.

All coding levels welcome! So whether your child is a White Hat “noob” or a 1337 “Elite” developer-in-training, Extra Ed has a coding program to take their skills to the next level!
