COURSE OVERVIEW

This is an advanced version of our Money Managers program that teaches the fundamentals of entrepreneurship in-depth. Students will participate in team-based activities to develop a business plan in Level 1, and then actually implement one themselves in Level 2. This course will include lots of hands-on experience around starting and managing a small business in the real world

Level 1

Students will learn about how to start a business including costs, developing a product, researching funding options and determining the value of going public vs private. This will be done through groups working together to “manage” a pre-established company and guide that company through many obstacles.

Level 2

Students will create their own business plan, including features like; market assessment, funding options, differences between for-profits and not-for-profits, and business models with social responsibilities. This will be done through a tournament style where every business will compete with one another to gain the most profits.
