Ever wonder what it would be like to grow your own food and eat it?
Extra Ed’s Farm to Table Eating course takes students outside and into the garden to learn how the agricultural ecosystem works to produce the food we eat. Students literally learn that soil supports life.
This hands-on course allows students to tend to their own gardens, harvest them, and prepare and cook the nutritious and delicious food they have laboured to produce. Students learn about fertilization and how to use various gardening techniques to grow organic produce, free of pesticides.
Cooking sessions are the most fun as students learn to prepare safe and healthy recipes while learning about nutrition and diet along the way.
Why is it important to eat whole foods, foods in season, reen leafy vegetables and foods grown locally? Students will be happy to share the answers to these questions at the end of this wholesome course.
